Gulf coast marketing company’s logo design is chosen to represent the 2010 Festival of Trees fundraiser for the Panama City Rescue Mission’s women’s home, Bethel Village

The Panama City Rescue Mission announced the winner of its logo competition for the 2010 Festival of Trees: Christmas Through the Eyes of a Child. Kerigan Marketing Associates, Inc., with offices in Port St. Joe, Florida and Baton Rouge, Louisiana, www.kerigan.com, submitted the winning design, to be used with all 2010 Festival of Trees promotions.

“We knew we wanted to convey the magic of Christmas,” Panama City Rescue Mission’s Development Director Amanda Bawn stated, “and to children everything looks so much bigger than it really is.”

Kerigan Marketing’s design will help them convey that message, which “ inspired the logo elements of a small child looking up in wonder at a towering present. We think this scene really captures the magic felt by so many children at Christmas,” said Catherine Noel of Kerigan Marketing.

Festival of Trees has become a family Christmas tradition and enables local artists and designers to create unique Christmas items for charity. The items are judged in competition and made available for auction. Visitors can enjoy the sights and sounds of the season during special mini-events (by invitation only Nov 30 – Dec 2) or during the general admission (on December 3, from 5 pm to 9 pm)! All proceeds help Bethel Village, the Rescue Mission’s home for recovering homeless women and families.

Additionally, on Friday December 3, 2010, the Mission will also host a “Lunch with Santa.” This fieldtrip, for our schools’ homeless children, allows them to enjoy the beautiful trees, learn about the History of Christmas, meet Santa and receive gifts.

Festival of Trees events are held in cities nationwide. For more information contact Amanda Bawn, Public Relations Director at 850-769-0783×114 , or abawn@pcrmission.org .

The Audubon Golf Trail is a collection of 12 public golf courses around the state, including the TPC of Louisiana, home to the PGA New Orleans tour stop.

Kerigan will partner with Miles Media, who handles tourism for the State of Florida, for the work and was selected based on past design successes. The new site will feature a menu of videos along with social sites and a new reservations system.

Area Tourism Ad Campaigns Win Top Honors

Kerigan Marketing Associates, a local design firm, led all competitors at the Gulf Coast Media and Marketing Association’s ADDY Awards held at the Visual Arts Center in Panama City, February 8, 2008. The American Advertising Federation awarded Kerigan “Best of Show” and a Gold ADDY for its St. Joe Marinas’ brochure and “Judges’ Choice Award” and Gold ADDY for its 2007 Gulf County Discovery Guide.

Along with the top honors, the Kerigan team took four (4) gold and 14 silver ADDYs. Neves Media, WMBB TV and CyberSytes, a Panama City web design firm, each received two gold.

“We were pretty much blown away,” said Jack Kerigan, Jr., owner of the firm. “Of course we work really hard, and, at the end of the day, it’s about creating work that helps our clients sell something. We don’t enter many competitions but the ADDYS are judged by a nationwide panel of advertising specialists and it’s nice to know how we stack up.

“I am thankful to our clients for trusting in our creative direction and, especially, my staff, because we won gold across such a broad range of categories.” In addition to the brochures, Kerigan won gold for a new Mowrey Elevator web site and a logo design for SeaSide Village in Carrabelle. “Much of our work is out of state but this was an all-Florida effort,” said Kerigan. “Coast2Coast did a great job of printing the intricate St. Joe Marinas’ brochure, and Tom Baird and Debbie Hooper, both of Port St. Joe, provided professional photography on the winning projects.”

Kerigan, who holds a marketing degree from FSU and an MBA, directed each of the projects. Catherine Noel, a graduate of LSU’s School of Design, led all creative. Sarah Gaskins, a graduate of UGA’s School of Journalism, led web development assisted by programmer, George Kelley. Elaine Lerch completes the Kerigan team and serves as Office Manager.

Among Kerigan’s 14 silver ADDYs, local winners included email marketing design for Gulf County-Mexico Beach Tourism, a web site for EcoSeascape Construction and a logo for Air Force Robotics. The Gold winners will now move on to the district level to compete against all Florida firms including the Caribbean; one of the toughest districts for tourism marketing.

Components include a new logo, print ads, media relations, and invitation design.

Our decision to ask Kerigan Marketing Associates to handle the media and communications for this year’s special 25th Anniversary tournament was an easy one. They’re a talented team, and we’re happy with the great work they’ve done for us.

Scott Burt, Tournament Director
Bay Point Billfish Invitational

A celebration 25 years in the making is set to attract leading anglers and their families to the gulf coast, July 9-13, 2008. Catch-and-release billfish action on the giant Jumbotron screen, exciting weigh in events for tuna, dolphin and wahoo, and all the dockside activities Bay Point Resort has become known for promises to make this year’s event the biggest ever.

Helping to make the anniversary even more special are the returning sponsors including Viking Yachts, Galati Yacht Sales and The St. Joe Company, which partnered to present the 2007 event with a million dollar plus payout. The popular tournament has announced it is taking the lead in gulf coast tournament fishing with full release in the billfish category. The catch and release billfish format is verified by video recording and was a hit last year with the action projected onto the giant screen for the crowds. In addition, 2007 tournament directors Scott Burt and Chris Miller will again lead the historic event with the goal of continuing the Bay Point Invitational as the angler’s favorite on the gulf coast.

“The teams agree there’s really nothing like the Bay Point Invitational, from the excitement of the crowds to the outstanding venue and on site amenities of Bay Point Resort with the spa, dining, Nicklaus golf course and more,” says Scott Burt, Tournament Director. “Anglers know this event for big fish and big parties. A state record was set in our 2001 tournament with a 1,046 lb Blue Marlin and we are gearing up for another memorable event in this year’s 25th Anniversary.”

The nearly weeklong schedule begins with the arrival of teams on Tuesday and Wednesday and a private kick-off party overlooking the lagoon, as entertainment gets underway Wednesday on the main stage of Marina Village. Continuing events include:

Thursday morning golf tournament, 8:30AM, on the Nicklaus course. Thursday afternoon’s exciting “Dock Walk” as crowds get up close to watch teams prepare baits and tackle, then depart at the 8:30PM cannon signal with a backdrop of fireworks over the lagoon. Friday night brings a guaranteed payout of $10,000 for the heaviest fish weighed and $5,000 for the second place early catch brought in to a celebration of food & entertainment in Marina Village. Saturday the majority of the teams return with live TV coverage and exciting video action on the Jumbotron, with crowds of thousands participating in the dockside festivities.

“It was really something to see last year, with every head staring at video hook up action from deep blue, almost purple water,” says Director Chris Miller. “As the team grabs the fish’s bill, removes the hook and sees that tail kick the water… the crowd really goes wild.”
